Theatre III is hosting a Stage Management Workshop!
Facilitated by Alison Walters-Short, who has stage managed at multiple community theaters in the area and was recognized in the 2020 EMACT DASH outstanding achievement awards.
This combination of intro material with some hands-on practice exercises will cover a variety of stage management topics including:
This is a free opportunity to see if community theater stage management might be of interest to you! Come find out how to be some of the glue that holds a show together.
Bring a sharp pencil or two - otherwise, everything, including some snacks and water, will be provided. During the lunch break people are welcome to leave and return, or hang out and we can order via a group DoorDash (likely Panera - bring cash or Venmo).

- Defining your duties as the stage manager (and how it might vary from show to show and company to company!)
- Working with show departments & being a communication conduit
- Taking blocking notes & doing rehearsal reports
- Setting up a run script & calling a show
